We would like to support you in case you receive a letter from the Belgian tax authorities informing you about outstanding payments despite having successfully completed your deregistration.
This letter reaches you when
- you have commissioned Taxdoo with the deregistration for VAT purposes in Belgium by 30.06.2021 and
- the deregistration has been finally completed.
- As a consequence of the deregistration, we will no longer file local returns in Belgium for you since Q3/2021.
We are happy to support you in clarifying this issue by forwarding the letter from the authorities to our local partner. Our partner is in close contact with the Belgian authorities and will initiate and lead all necessary steps.
In this context we would like to draw your attention to the following aspects:
- Please do not make any payments based on the received letter until further notice; with the deregistration your previous tax account at the Belgian tax office has been deactivated. Any payments can therefore only be made to a separate account.
- Upon receipt of the letter from the authorities, our local partner will first check the monetary values determined by the tax authorities. This will be done on the one hand by comparing the actually reported VAT values and on the other hand by means of the actually made payments.
- In this context, we ask you to send us the proofs of payment for the last three reporting quarters (Q4/2020, Q1/2021, Q2/2021).
- As soon as we receive the proofs of payment, we will forward them to our partner for evaluation.
- If the payment reminder is valid, you will shortly receive a separate payment instruction from us with the corresponding account details and the appropriate purpose.
