User Roles

Owner

Owners have full administrative access to the Taxdoo dashboard, and receive all email notifications.

They can set up restricted access for other roles.

Only owners can manage users, book add-ons, or access payments.

The owner role is assigned to the user with the e-mail address that was entered when booking Taxdoo and cannot be edited or removed.

Employee

Employees have limited access to the Taxdoo dashboard. They cannot manage users, book add-ons, or access payments. They receive the same email notifications as account owners.

The employee role is the default non-administrative role. It is selected by default when adding new users, but you can switch to the tax advisor role as needed.

Tax advisor

Tax advisors have the same limited access to the Taxdoo dashboard as employees. They only receive email notifications when reports are ready for filing.

This role is designed for tax professionals that assist in your accounting processes. This role allows them to perform accounting-related functions via the Accounting add-on without altering your other settings.

It is planned for 2024 to expand more on the notifications and allow users to select their preferred notifications.

Changing roles

Owners can change the roles assigned to other users via Settings > User management.

To re-assign an existing user to a new role, select the user in the table and choose Change role from the ⋮ menu in the Actions column.

Support access to your dashboard

In some cases, our support team may need access to your dashboard in order to process your support requests. This enables us to better understand your individual situation and respond to your request in a more targeted manner. Access is limited to 24 hours and is then automatically removed.
In the user table, you can check whether a support employee currently has access to your dashboard. You also have the option of removing this access yourself.
