In this article, we explain the process of a local registration or the transfer of powers of attorney with Taxdoo.
Important: To carry out the registration or the power of attorney transfer, it is necessary that you have completed the setup of your Taxdoo dashboard.
Once your dashboard is set up, and you have booked the relevant service add-on for the registration/power of attorney transfer, the process proceeds as follows:
1. Information Request
In order to create the necessary documents for the process, we first require some information about your company as well as details regarding the start of registration or the point in time of the transfer of powers of attorney. You will receive a structured request from our support team with all the details you need to provide. If in doubt about what exactly to provide, our team will help you out.
2. (optional) retroactive evaluation
The basis for submitting VAT returns is the VAT evaluation covered by your base package. Should your provided details regarding the start of registration / point in time of the transfer of powers of attorney indicate that returns for periods prior to your booking with Taxdoo need to be submitted, we must first create the evaluation for these periods. As this retroactive evaluation is charged once with the costs of the base package per period, we will inform you in advance about the scope and the resulting total costs. Only after you have confirmed the costs will the process continue.
3. Receipt of Documents
Once you have submitted the information from step 1), you will next receive the prepared documents from us. Depending on the country and the legal form of your company, further documents may need to be provided by you. This can be, for example, an excerpt from the commercial register or a business registration certificate. We will, of course, inform you of the exact requirements in detail.
4. Finalization and Sending of Documents
The documents prepared by us usually need to be finalized by signing in the correct place. We will, of course, also inform you exactly where each document needs to be finalized. Once all signatures have been obtained and all required documents have been collected, you send the documents by post to Taxdoo.
5. Review and Forwarding of Documents
As soon as we have received your documents, we will check them again for completeness. If anything is missing, we will contact you. If everything is in order, we will forward the data by express mail to our partner tax firm in the corresponding EU country. Where necessary, your documents will be translated into the local language and finally submitted to the tax office.
6. Confirmation / Submission of the First Return(s)
After receipt of the documents, the tax office requires a certain amount of time to process the case. You can find further information on this in our article How long does my registration take? Once the tax office has completed the processing of your registration, our partners receive a confirmation, which we will forward to you immediately. The document contains your VAT ID and serves as official proof of your registration. In the case of a transfer of powers of attorney, there is no such document, therefore confirmation is not applicable here. In both cases, the submission of VAT returns will follow shortly.
